Silver Surfer

This necklace is primarily made of Black Mica and features two Lilac Dendritic Opal slates toward the bottom center. Throughout the Mica are a few moments of Smoky Quartz and Rainbow Obsidian. This pendant was gifted to me so its origins are unknown, but the aesthetic of this necklace is inspired by the energy and color palette of the pendant. And thus I present to you . . . Silver Surfer!

The semi-translucent grey beads are Black Mica in Grey Rutile Quartz. This compound name means a Black Mica stone formed within a Quartz carrying needle-like inclusions! Black Mica, it is a natural stone with a pearly luster that contains several reactive metals thus making it very metallic, shimmery, and reflective properties. As a result, this gemstone is believed to help us reflect on ourselves and recognize flaws without self-condemnation.

The Lilac slates above the pendant are made of Dendritic Opal. This particular Opal not only has black and orange mineral inclusions, but there's also another special mineral present that's responsible for the purple we see. Opal exists in many different formations, but these particular cuts are very unique and unlike the other popular forms of Opal. Moreover, this Opal often has tree-like patterns that represent one’s connection to Earth, boosting intuition and self-awareness.

Smoky Quartz is named for its brown to black coloring due to millennia of natural irradiation in high-elevation areas. Smoky Quartz has been a beloved healing crystal for centuries, and its powers have been made synonymous with “Heaven on Earth” and the idea of celestial magic. It is believed to connect us to different realms, so it was used by various shamans and tribes for divination rituals and afterlife transitions.

Rainbow Obsidian is actually volcanic glass (solidified lava)! Rainbow Obsidian gets its name from its iridescent colors that appear when tilted in sunlight. If you value honesty, try turning to Obsidian for guidance. Obsidian symbolizes the truth in all its messy glory – the good and the bad, the pretty and the ugly. This stone can soothe any type of aggressive energy with serene patience, thus adding to the chill surfer mentality.
